Jason and Calvin usually discuss the Bible story of the evening while I put Isaac to bed in the next room. Then, I come in to sing Calvin a song, and sometimes we briefly review the story he just learned, starting in his words.
"What song would you like me to sing tonight, Calvin?"
"How about one about the story tonight?"
I asked him what story he'd talked about, and he said, "Um, Jesus was talking about humpty."
"Humpty? Hmm, what's humpty?" (Is he trying to get me to sing Humpty Dumpty? That's a new one.)
"Well, Jesus was talking to the people about humpty, because some of the people were proud and some were humpty."
"Oh, you mean "humble"!"
"Yeah."
Epilogue: We sang "I'd Rather Be a Little One Climbing Up". Jason told me later they had discussed the Pharisee and the tax collector.
Also, Xanga posts coming soon. Uploaded a bunch of pics and actually got my pictures from mid-July to the present sent off for development. Whew.
